Serving over 268,000 households, the City of San Jose's Recycle Plus! program is one of the largest residential garbage and recycling services in the nation. With residential collection contracts scheduled to terminate in the year 2002, we are seeking proposals from qualified providers for the following services:

  • Garbage Collection and Disposal
  • Recycling Collection and Processing
  • Yard Trimmings Collection and Processing
  • Street Sweeping
  • Backyard Composting Programs
  • Waste Reduction and Reuse Programs
  • Public Education Regarding Residential Solid Waste

The Request for Proposals for San Jose's residential collection and processing contracts was released on April 28, 2000. On July 14, 2000, seven proposals were submitted for Recycle Plus services. For a listing of the proposers and the services offered, click here.
