Case Studies

The City of San José is committed to the principle of “highest and best use” for its organics diversion. That means turning food and yard waste into compost instead of burying it in a landfill. By diverting more and more organics from our waste stream, the City is aggressively working toward Zero Waste. In the process, we take part in creating a valuable resource for our community. The following case studies are the first in a series devoted to best practices and innovative uses of compost – another renewable resource!
