Return to Reusable Bags
San José Bag Stakeholder Group
The San José Bag Stakeholder Group includes representatives from various industries, environmental groups, and other Santa Clara County city affiliates. All business owners and residents are welcome. This group has met since February 2008 to discuss opportunities, evaluate best practices, and develop feasible policy options for increasing the use of reusable bags, and reducing the use of single-use paper and plastic bags. The San José Bag Stakeholder Group helped to develop reusable bag program elements which the County’s Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission recommended to various jurisdictions.
Currently meetings take place from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, on the 2nd Wednesday of every other month. The meetings are held at City Hall, Conference Room T-1047. Business owners and residents are encouraged to attend, provide input, and voice concerns.
For 2010, meetings were held on March 10, May 12, and June 16. No other Bag Stakeholder meetings are scheduled at this time.
