Return to Reusable Bags

San José Bag Stakeholder Group

The San José Bag Stakeholder Group includes over 140 representatives from various industries, environmental groups, and other Santa Clara County city affiliates. All business owners and residents are welcome. This group has met since February 2008 to discuss opportunities, evaluate best practices, and develop feasible policy options for increasing the use of reusable bags, and reducing the use of single-use paper and plastic bags. The San José Bag Stakeholder Group has a core group of 20 members who developed the proposed ordinance language which the County’s Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission recommended to various jurisdictions.

Meetings take place every other Wednesday, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, at City Hall, Conference Room T-1047. Business owners and residents are encouraged to attend, provide input, and voice concerns.

Unable to attend these meetings? Request a City staff presentation for your group, organization or association.
