Florida Department of Environmental Protection has maps and related lists to the cities and countries all over the world that have taken action to reduce the use of disposable plastic and or paper bags.
Algalita Marine Research Foundation is dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and its watersheds through research, education, and restoration. Some of its research work includes the North Pacific Gyre Plankton Sample Analysis ‘07-‘08 and the Pelagic Plastic.
California Ocean Protection Council helps coordinate and improve the protection and management of California's ocean and coastal resources and implement the Governor's 'Ocean Action Plan' released in October 2004.
California Integrated Waste Management Board promotes a Zero Waste California in partnership with local government, industry, and the public.
The Ireland Department of the Environment has provided valuable data regarding their experience with a fee on plastic bags.
